It is that tie again...
I always like this link up because it gives me a chance to reflect on my week's blessings
in and out of the classroom.
This week was a STATE TESTING week... BLEH
excuse me I think I just threw up in my mouth!!!
OK back to blessings
since the last week was that...
we didn't do too much in the classroom
BUT what we did do I took pics of it
(((SMILE)))
so join me now for my FIVE
but there are more than five pics *wink*
I realized you might need a better up close and personal pic of...
no NOT our new custodian
but of our fab nest building supply holder....
I have to say our new custodian is
AWESOME...
his first day was the day I discovered the
OPOSSUM DEATH
so he was initiated into our school family on a very sour slimy note!!!
and now my room has flies...
lots and lots of FLIES
GIANT FLIES
and let's just say they were actively monitoring during the test too...
I know I have personally swatted over 30 of them into little fly heaven...
and let me tell you they are HUGE.
and SUPER SLOW
I think they are full on opossum guts
but hey what do I know...
I wrote cocoon
*wink*
anyways our new guy...
I'll call him Mr. D
is our official FLY WRANGLER
yee haw
welcome to Texas Mr. D
and that my friends is that...
next week we have some fun things in store in my classroom
I mean I am now able to spread my wings and fly...
state testing traps me like a CHRYSALIS and now that it is over
I can spread my wings and SOAR...
hopefully our little injured butterfly is NOT a metaphor for my future week...
but hey having sugar water and fresh flowers delivered daily isn't too bad... right?
toodles
ONE LAST THING....
please head on over to my buddy Reagan's blog and support a wonderful cause
http://tunstalltimes.blogspot.com/2013/04/fighting-bone-cancer.html
PURTY PLEASE go check out her fund raiser...
link above the pic
thanks so much!!!
I love your haircut - that is a great picture. I do quilt art every year but usually tie it into patterning and symmetry but I love that you did transformations. I think it is great that your school participates in so many community festivals. I smile every time you update your opossum saga - you could turn it into a picture book : )

So glad to hear you are all done with testing! Hugs coming your way to relieve some of that stress!! :) What a great idea to go and get pedicures and manicures! Our testing is next week and I'm thinking I may suggest that for all of my worn out co-workers and myself :)
ReplyDeleteI'm having a 200 follower giveaway over at my blog I'd love for you to check out :)

I know that your kids rocked the STAAR because they have a rockstar for a teacher! I am also bummed you were in Fredericksburg and did not tell me!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your hair long!! And the color looks GREAT on you. :) But I'm super jealous that you're already done with EOY testing! A mani/pedi was a fabulous celebration idea! Maybe I should be a gift certificate for my 3rd grade buddy teacher so she has something to look forward to when ours are over in a few weeks.

What a fun post! Even though we are already done with our testing, I am so jealous of the mani/pedi! I am your newest follower and love your blog.

So glad to hear you are done with state testing...coming up for us! Your pic looks AWESOME! We've had a fly problem before...they drive you nuts, then die in the lights and look disgusting. Get 'em!

Love the new do and the nails! I would totally say cocoon instead of chrysalis too because I had to go back up your post to see how it was spelled. Oy. MAYBE you should challenge your kids to make fly traps. It could be a SUPER project requiring fly research which makes for an interesting end of the year project! XO
