Pink Eye, Flood, and a Gar Hole

so if you are here to see me getting my classroom together
or what theme I have picked for this year
or a product I might have made
or really anything teacher created...
well
so sorry
you won't find that in this post
my little fam of 3 has been super busy...
we have had a lot of schtuff going on
and none of it is teacher schtuff....
so if you are looking for the above I completely understand if you X out of here
but if you want to know what we have been up to keep reading....

so let's go back to the start of the summer...
we had a little engagement party to go to for my cuz Will...
this is where I painted my face on
usually my face has the summer off
but for special occasions it gets dolled up...
this occasion I even put on party lashes
I used all my good make-up
ALL my good makeup
and the next day...
I found out I had
wait for it....
PINK EYE
had to throw all of my eye makeup away...
dr's orders...
insert way sad face...
way sad face with pink eye
and where the heck did I get pink eye it was summer

 not too long after that...
our house flooded...
YAY
it happened in Bub's bathroom
and the toilet was like the best gusher I have ever seen...
thank goodness it was clean water...
well at least it was when I waded through the ankle deep water to turn it off
I have 10 rooms in my house and only 1 room didn't have water in it...
and so lots and lots of fans later and dehumidifiers and mops and brooms and
all kinds of crazy...
baseboards were pulled carpet and padding removed
and kitchen cabinets busted and
tiles removed and other schtuff...
well thank GOD for my parents...
dad watched bub while mom and i came days and days to the house to clean and sweep and mop and clean and then
we camped out at my parent's
because who can sleep with all those fans blowing... I think there were like 28 in all
well actually i made hubs sleep at home with the fur babies
one I was scared to leave the house vacant after all those peeps were in there
ripping and drying and tearing and drying and cracking and drying and well at one time I counted 12 strangers in my house... and they saw all that my house had to offer ...
all...
and 2 my poor fur babies couldn't be home alone with all those fans
i love my hubs...
plus I'm sure his snoring was louder than the fans

we are all dried up and waiting on the remodeling fixing to start... just waiting on insurance...
tick tock tick tock
in the middle of the GREAT FARLEY FLOOD of 2014
i got to go to a BARRY LANE pd
so funnnnn
he sings a lot
and he doesn't put icing on the state testing issues...
i appreciate that
 A LOT!!!

I am not sure what we were doing here...
but in the middle of all of this craziness...
we went on a vaycay...
and look at us...
we needed it...

we stopped at the Louisiana Bass Pro Shop...
because it took us longer to get through Louisiana than Texas...
I am coming from middle Texas and well an 8 hour trip turned into a 12 hour trip....
thanks Louisiana...
anyways... the Bass Pro Shop is beautiful
for a Bass Pro Shop
and was a great pit stop
good snacks...
nice clean potties
and well it is better than a truck stop

 super huge gar...
spying on my little man...
he kept staring at my guy and I got a little paranoid
could it jump out???
did it want to eat him...
i am fully aware if it jumped out its chances of eating Bub were not so good
BUT
gar have teeth people..
big sharp teeth
if my pic was better you could see his...
so bub was quickly escorted away after this pic
creepy gar...
go back to your gar hole
finally we got to gma's house and the next day
the very first thing we do...
go to the snow ball place
it was on bub's Mississippi Bucket List
mine too...
i use to spend my summers with my grandparents and we always went to THIS
yep THIS snow ball place ...
YUMMY

we did adult things too...
grandma and my aunt watched Bub
and hubs and I went to the slots
slots won...
doesn't this pic look like the pic with Barry Lane...
except this is Hubs
and I am wearing a gray shirt...
and there is a Margaritaville sign behind us...
BUT still similar

Bub got to play with his little cuz...
baby H
they had so much fun!!!

on my bucket list was a place called
BLOWFLY INN
I LOVE this place...
real Mississippi Gulf Coast Seafood
love it
Bub loves it too...
he even got a window seat...

this was a ginormous sand castle we saw at the mall...
HUGE

Bub's other Bucket List item was eating at Margaritaville...
and we did...

he loves it here...
and it is one of our faves too...
I am sad to say they announced yesterday that they are closing...
whaaaa
not gonna tell Bub

the 3rd thing on his list...
we all got to pick 3 things
was the BEACH

saying goodbye to my Grandma is always the hardest...
we had a great 4 days but we had to get home

ummmm
a few days after our return and
I had surgery...
unexpected BUT needed
umm my girls
aka my ovaries...
were not being my friend
one was growing a few cysts
my ultrasound looked like I was storing golfballs on my ovary...
i don't like golf
stupid ovary
it was an in and out procedure
i was home in like 3 hours

on the way home we had to get
Oh Boys...
that is our phrase for yummies...
and no better place than
bahama bucks

 a fews days after
golfball removal
my Texas Grandma hosted our annual
summer luncheon
this is just me and my MeMow
but their was
me, mom, MeMow, my aunt, and my SiL
at the luncheon
oh and gpa crashed it too
anyways we do this every summer  and it is a great tradition...
we are all teachers or retired teachers and it is just great to get together
 feeling much better
this weekend
we went to my father in laws
bub's aunt ali from cali was in town and he loves her
we had to go and visit AUNT ALI

so off we went...
it was soooo good seeing Ali and Uncle Keith
Drew had a blast!!!
and well that was Sunday...
and today is Tuesday...

and so that fills you in on most of the things
that have been going on so far....
thanks for reading through our cray summer...
hope you enjoyed it just a little...
I am going up to my classroom this week
so I will have some classroom pics coming soon

  12. That was a really fun time you guys had. It's cool that we get to be a part of it in a way, seeing all those pictures, and you sharing all your joys. The house flooding was a bit of a bummer, though. That was such a trouble of its own, with the water and the impact across the floor and the appliances nearby. At least it wasn't such a biggie and it was resolved immediately. All the best!
