APRIL CURRENTLY

What day is it???
The day before the STAAR test... YAY!!! (snarkasism)
and my CURRENTLY design totally reflects my standardized test brain right now...

BUT before we go any further...
let me introduce you to this month's sponsor...

Just Wild About Teaching
Ms. C is a Jersey girl...
how cool is that??? a JERSEY girl...
and she teaches 1st grade.
I don't think I have ever met a Jersey Girl...
it kinda makes me excited... maybe because my fave housewives are the Jersey HW...
that by far is my FAVE...
but really I am super excited to have Ms. C this month...
even though I am not really meeting her...
but she is a sponsor.... sMiLiNg
As always... Ms. C is allowed to share 3 things...
The first thing is she would LOVE to share her Instagram with you...
http://instagram.com/justwildaboutteaching
click on the link
OR
look for justwildaboutteaching
and I must say I just spent more than a few being a creeper on her IG...
I LOVE an IG that is a good mix of school and home :)
probably because I am nosey BUT I always love to know the person behind the classroom!!!
and I might have been looking to see if she knows any of the NJ HW...
you'll have to go look for yourself if she does or not
the second thing Ms. C wanted me to share was...
Spring is here and what better way to start it off than by introducing butterflies to your little ones. This is a fun unit packed with crafts, printables, and review guides all about these cute little butterflies. This unit is filled with tons of fun pages... 68 pages to be exact!!!
It is a 4 star product and a steal of a deal... click on the pic to go there!!!

The 3rd and final thing....
Ribbit... Ribbit...This froggy mini unit is perfect for Spring. Your little ones will love the crafts and informative printables that are included in this bundle. Such a fun and exciting way to introduce frogs to your class this year! 70 pages at only $5 is a steal!!!! click on the pic to check it out!!!

Thanks so much to Ms. C for sponsoring this CURRENTLY...
and now for April's CURRENTLY.......

the last question...
I was just curious when you start your day...
and when is your last day???
MY HOURS are the above...but  the kids' hours are 7:30 - 2:30
it is EARLY but I am home pretty early too!!!
some days I LOVE it... some days not so much *wink*
I usually wake up at 5 to get ready... it takes a long time to look this good *wink*

and now it is your turn...

When you link up... do not forget to do the RULE of 3...
you need to go and comment on the 2 before your and the one after yours...
that is really my only rule...
it is just nice and a great way to spread some LOVE!!!!

  8. Fingers crossed that standardized testing "poofs" before the morning for you. Just in case it doesn't...sending positive vibes for it to pass by quickly so you can get back to the good stuff!

  10. I am amazed at how young our little peoples of our country are tested. For goodness sake! Good Luck! You are awesome which means that your kiddos are awesome. Most importantly that they feel confident and successful. We all know that you can not possibly show what you know in one test on one day.

Thanks for hosting Currently. It is the one Linky that I make sure I get around to doing EVERY time! I even bought your classroom ones!

    Thanks much,

  20. Would it be AMAZING if standardized teaching disappeared? I gave the PARCC field tests this week and it was brutal! We still have our SLO assessment, Dibels, and our state testing up ahead! Do something special this week to celebrate it being over!

  21. I taught 3rd grade for four years and had to hop down to 2nd to get away from "testing land." I respect you for having the patience and fortitude to bear it. It sucked the fun and creativity right out of me, and my students. Children are not made to fill in test bubbles or write extended response questions or experience high anxiety at a young age. Yikes. I will get off my soapbox now, and thank you for the opportunity to link up! My CURRENTLY is a reflective one this month, as there is sadness in my personal life at present. Writing about it helped though.
    Gratefully,

  22. Oh, dear, I'm sorry someone copied your idea and resold it on TPT. It's sad to think that someone is that desperate. Hopefully, they have realized it was them so they can clean up their act and offer an apology. Of course, people like this seem to be oblivious....

  23. Hey girl - loving your post as always! I was interested in the hours and last day part- I have from 8:15-3:15 which I thought was average but now I am wondering, as I see where you are teachers must be there from 7-3 (8 hours). I actually get to school around 7 myself and leave between 4-5, but the kids are only there from 8:35-3:15. Amazes me that schools don't have the same amount of daily required hours for students!

  24. Wouldn't it be wonderful if standardized tests disappeared! That'd be the day... It's one of the positives of teaching in Canada since they only test in grades 3 & again in 6 I believe. It's one of the only down sides that pops in my head when I think about moving back to the States & teaching there.
