bed rest, workshop, & 14 cows

I'm back (cough cough)
and boy am I glad!!!
This all started 3 weeks ago when bub got a couple of viruses
and he shared them with me!!!
I had fever and a cough
went to the dr
it is a virus let it run its course (cough cough)
use your inhaler, get some over the counter cough med, Tylenol to break fever, and use the neti pot
then 3 days later I was coughing more and more and not able to sleep (cough cough)
back to the dr still with fever
bronchitis... strict bed rest for 2 days
on antibiotics, cough syrup with codeine (knocks me out ZZZZZZ), and Tylenol for fever oh and continue to use the neti pot
I missed both days of our state testing
you know I was sick if I missed STATE TESTING
thank God for great friends and coworkers that covered for me
then feeling better I returned to school on Thursday
half day only
scratchy throat and sore tongue
figured it was because of my excessive cough drop sucking
woke up yesterday
can't talk... super sore throat
go to dr AGAIN
and I won't go into details but I have a wonderful new problem
it is a result of me not sucking my inhaler in deep enough
BUT all in all besides the new meds that make me want to gag and give me a yucky tummy I am
feeling 80% better!!!
YAY me (cough cough)
I only cough like once an hour now
haven't had fever for awhile
and today I went to a workshop!!!
I felt good!!!
plus I am now just a stomach flu away from my goal wt.
not really but I have lost like 15 pounds

the workshop I wanted to share with you
was very informative and was a JOY

  1. You poor thing!! I hope you are feeling much better now--that is WAY too much sickness for one girl! Looks like such a wonderful workshop. Feel 100% soon!!!

  2. Oh Farley! I can't believe you have been THO Sick! I laughed at your one stomach flu from goal weight. That is the ONLY bonus to being sick. Looks like you are inspired and that's g-r-e-a-t!!!

  3. So glad you are feeling better. we are on the OTHER side of the STAAR test and it feels so FAB, doesn't it??? I hope you get over all your health issues and finish these last 6 weeks strong. The lap book and sheets look so wonderful...heading over to Kay's site now. Enjoy the rest of your weekend as best as you can in your medicated state...ha :)

  4. I forgot to say that I Love the story of 14 cows...it was a Bluebonnet book nominee last year I think. Great book.

  5. Ooh! All that sickness sounds so bad! I hope you get all better soon! :)

  6. Sounds like we have been sick around the same time! I started with two days of coughing. Then a fever kicked in. I taught one day with the fever because I didn't have warning to get things ready for a sub. I was off work for 6 days and stayed home from April 12 - 22. After I made it through the fever, I went to Urgent Care and found out I had bronchitis. Got some good meds including an inhaler. I went back to work this week and was losing my voice everyday and still coughing. I've been exhausted today and napping. I'm ready to get over this.

I hope you get over this quickly. I know. It's not fun at all especially this time of the year.

Sounds like you had fun today and learned lots.

  13. Oh No! So sorry you've been so sick! I'm glad you're finally on the mend, and I love the positive attitude (and hilarity) of being one stomach flu away from goal. LOL! I can't wait for you to blog, blog, blog away about the lapbook so we can get alllllllllll the details! Here's to a healthy end of the year for you!

  14. I read 14 Cows for America for 9/11 to my first and second graders. Then I made a little powerpoint about the Maasai people, and my class was REALLY into it!

    Marvelous Multiagers!

  15. Oh my gosh, the 14 cows book is too hard to read out loud. It's SUPER beautiful and I love it, but I can't read it out loud without sobbing like a nutter. I do read it out loud, but it is rough!
